Nothing says "I made it" like a Lamborghini. While this is a subjective opinion, growing up my brain was consumed by this thought. I was born in 1996, so while the Diablo is also a top tier car for me... the Murci was the car that stood ahead of the pack. This car has been a dream of mine since the day I got the poster of a 2002 in Verde Ithica hung up on my wall. It has taken me a few weeks to think of the words to say regarding the drive I had the pleasure of experiencing with this car, it really had an impact on me. This particular example is a 2006 E-Gear car (obviously I would have loved for it to have been gated, but when your friend offers to let you drive his Lamborghini you just don't say no.

We went out for a rip, and I was following in hast to the same friends Verde Mantis Huracan, it was quite a special day! That said, I am sure you aren't reading this to hear about my emotions and my pitched tent.. let's get down to the meat.

Is this car great to drive? That's subjective but the large answer is no. It doesn't handle like it's younger brother (gallardo/huracan) but that isn't really what this car is about. Is it fast? Yes. Is it peel your face off scary fast? No. It is entirely tolerable to drive though, which is something I wasn't expecting at 6'1" & 225 I expected to hate being in it after about 5 minutes, especially being that Ed Bolian has a hard time fitting in the coupe. The car was surprisingly spacious, I didn't feel cramped, the offset pedal gear to the steering wheel while awkward really made the cabin feel less cramped. The cars build quality is what you expect out of an Italian hand built car, so, not great. But who cares, did you look at it?

One very important item to note which is otherwise obvious... the sound. This car when you are full throttle reaming it out for every inch of redline makes a noise that I can only describe as passionate. The glorious 6.5L V12 sings like something out of a long winded italian orchestra. You can't pay for the kind of satisfaction that it gives to be pressing that aluminum throttle pedal to the floor and hearing that delicious V12 sing. The E-gear under hard load was surprsingly responsive and totally fine. Low speed? Throw it in the garbage please. But, that isn't what this car is for.

I was really worried about meeting one of my heroes, on the way to meet the car I was with my wife explaining my fear that I may hate it & my whole life would be ruined. Instead I left a better man than I walked in as. The car while not the fastest, not the best handling, not the BEST looking (although beautiful) is a car that provided me an experience that I will never forget. I will own one, this car solidified that for me.

I have attached a video here for your viewing pleasure of 4ish minutes of raw driving. I had the pleasure of just shy of an hour of drive time - and I will think about it for the rest of my life.
