We have all misappraised or made a mistake appraising a car right?

With twelve years in the auto industry, I have used plenty of tools for running a dealership, utilizing and leveraging systems to generate trade appraisals and look at comprable cars to figure out a number.

Let me tell you what makes more sense - plugging in the vin & miles and being served a number on a silver platter - using the built in scanner to scan, not only current codes, but the entire history of the cars ECU - how many times it has been run out of gas, how many codes it has had in it's lifetime. Wouldn't that be zesty? The thing is, it exists.

I want to preface prior to digging too deep, this is not a sponsorship, I do not work for accu-trade and I am not being paid to say this. I just believe in the product for all that it offers.

The ease of use is one thing, scan a vin, it will give you every book value, manheim value, auto check, window sticker, carfax, DOM, daily depreciation, monthly depreciation, common issues, and common things to look out for on that specific car. Then, you combine that with Vintel - a scanner dongle that plugs into the car, and feeds all of the information into accu-trade, deducting or adding for the failures or greenlights that the scanner senses. It will also generate a full, printable and easy to read report of the cars entire mechanical history told by the ECU.

Sounds great right? Let me tell you what else! It will show you real time listings of comprable units, narrowing it down by mileage to find the closest comps to your car for a retail number.

The instant offers are low - leaving you room to make money - the target auction values are always very close if not spot on, even on the higher end goodies. As we all know, MMR is volitale, the information is not always great, and plenty of cars get excluded from the sample set. Cars.com has a group of seasoned wholesalers watching every auction in the country, and daily updating values in accu-trade to give you the most accurate possible numbers.

You couldn't convince me not to use the product - I would pay for it out of pocket if my store was unwilling to pay for it. If you haven't demoed the product, or tried it, I HIGHLY recommend it. With wholesale markets being uncertain and values ever changing, its good to have a tool you can really lean on when you just aren't sure.

Here is an example - this BMW 3 series is in on appraisal, new car deal. MMR is $14,800 - but the instant offer is $18,750. Granted, we all know a pearl white wagon is all the money, but, imagine putting 14k in the car, for it to do $18-19k at the auction. Or calling your wholesaler and they hit it at 15k, you think you won... till the car does back 19 or 20k and your heart breaks watching it sell. Don't leave money on the table! We are better than that!!!
