The Porsche Taycan... words can't describe the... oh wait. This is an Audi!

All, I wanted to share my ownership experience of the Audi E-tron GT - Audi's flagship EV - my particular car was a premium plus with executive, full leather, and performance packages, bringing the MSRP as tested to $120,415 after destination. Was it worth it? Nope. Should it be? Yep! Let me explain - this is one of the most well built cars I have ever owned, and arguabley the nicest to drive. It was also extremely diverse between its drive modes... from what felt like a track weapon at times, to a docile comfortable daily driver that massaged your buttox on a long ride.

The car was absolutely spectacular. It was effecient - in practice I was able to squeak out an additional 40 miles or so of range regularly from the quoted effeciency from Audi. Bringing me up to 280-290 miles of range. That said, I didn't use the A/C much, was always in effeciency mode, and hardly used the radio. In comfort, I could easily get 245-250 miles out of a full charge. The inteior is small, smaller than it should be given the fact it is the widest sedan Audi makes. It does give you that zesty cockpit feel though, which is more than can be said about mosts sedans in this segment. It was perfectly comfortable for me at 6 foot 1 and 225, as long as it was only me and another passenger. Back seat riders beware!!! I did hit my head alot, which explains why I am the way I am. That E-tron A-pillar did a number on me over my 5 months of ownership!

Here is where it becomes, not so worth it. The depreciation factor is IMMENSE - on this

$120,415 dollar car, in 5 months and 7,xxx miles, I managed to depreciate the car $40,415 north american smackers. So, I effectively lost an entire new Audi A3 in 5 months of ownership... was it worth it? Kinda, would I do it again? Probably. The only thing you HAVE to do on EV's, especially these higher dollar figure cars, is LEASE & keep them until the lease is up. It protects you from the negative equity. I will write a seperate blog on the best & only way to own a new EV. But for now to touch on it, LEASE LEASE LEASE or you will have regrets in the tens on tens of thousands.

To touch on another good point however, have you seen one? I mean... just look at it. Those body lines are something beholden only to supermodels & my girlish figure. Nothing deserves to be quite that attractive, especially when it's made of metal. Audi hit it out of the park with this car, and I would certainly have another. Maybe in another year when they're $45,000 - but one day soon enough!
