Remember that 2021 E-tron that I reviewed? In the review, I stated that it is serving a financial purpose for me, that purpose was to be able to get the capital together to buy myself another Porsche.
See, many moons ago I had a spectacular 2008 Cayman S that blew up from some severe bore scoring, I bought the car at 20 years old at a time the car still qualified for relatively painless financing - and couldn't REALLY afford to own the car. I did manage to put 50 thousand miles on it over the course of a few years, and absolutely loved it. When it died, it really hurt... It was a wound I never recovered from.

That said, I am finally in striking position on another Porsche - but I want to be smarter this time. I budgeted for a comfortable number that would not require financing, and decided to go out on the prowl, the only thing I hadn't realized is, these prices have changed. See, I paid $24,000 for my last car, a 2008 Cayman S with 40 thousand miles, manual, gorgeous, clean and well serviced. Today however, that is a very different story.. I found that the only thing I could buy for $20,000, was either a VERY bad 996 911, or a very decent 986 Boxster. Everything else in between? Forget about it, it was basically impossible.

I spent every day combing through the entire country including parts of Canada to find a car, and was left with nothing but hopes, dreams, and a few pieces of junk. That was until I met the car I am going to pick up here this week. I'll leave you on a cliff hanger for what it is, but I am extremely excited.
Porsche has always been more than a car to me, they are a dream. When I was a kid growing up it was always aircooled beetles surrounding my existence with my father - turning my love for the beetle and consequently the squished beetle (911) into something of a fantasy. These cars hold such a special place in my heart, and I am beyond excited to get back behind the wheel of my favorite car of all time!
More to come as I log my adventure down many many miles away to get my new car and road trip it back home to Delaware! Stay tuned!
