A tale as old as time, the idea of figuring out what car is going to be a better ROI than Apple Stock.
Well, in my heart of hearts, I believe this car to be the first generation Audi TT - Specifically the 225 & the 3.2 S-line Variants. All of them will see a climb in value, (in good condition) - but these two variants of course will be the most sought after and in turn the most valuable.
I have owned and operated a total of 11 MK1 Audi TT's, each car getting more expensive as we go. Included in these are a few of my favorites..
My 2004 TT 225 Roadster in Imola Yellow
My 2004 TT 3.2 S-Line Quattro in Imola Yellow
My 2002 TT 225 Coupe in Black Raven
These cars became a design icon as time has gone on, creating a small cult like following that will build as time goes on. Their whimsicle design, never aging body lines, incredible and well built interior (that is still stylish today) combined with the simple fact that Audi will never be this goofy again - is a receipe to make an instant classic. This car will continue to age well, and as the tuner kids buy them and destroy them, you will find fewer and fewer clean examples left to buy. Driving the clean low mileage examples through the roof.
You can see the growing following on sites like bringatrailer - where these once 5 thousand dollar cars are now fetching upwards of $20k+ in good condition. Hell, I sold my 2002 for ten thousand, and it had 110k miles on it.
In similar transactional histroy, I did sell a Silver 2001 225 coupe in a broker style deal with 30 thousand north american miles on it - she brought in a whopping $25k, in only a few minutes of advertising!
So, if you are looking for a safe and fun way to park your money, find a clean MK1 TT - always feel free to reach out to me via the instagram link, I always love talking about cars!
Great thoughts on this, I have one and love it!
