As Audi moves towards the diversification of it's brand into a 50/50 EV & I.C.E space, we are seeing some serious developments by way of tech and design. Audi is moving towards the future - and this starts here and now, with the Q6 E-tron.

Finally unveiling a new platform, the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) will boast some incredible upgrades to Audis already robust EV platforms With incredible updates to the MMI with a total of 37.3 inches of digital displays!!! While that may be frightening to some, Audi has the best tech in the business especially when it comes to their MMI and display models. These displays are broken down into a 11.9 OLED Virtual Cockpit for the driver, a 14.5 inch center OLED touch screen & a beautiful 10.9 inch passenger display. They are also following in the Q4's footsteps with the augmented reality heads up display... however, in this second generation of this tech, the high definition display is riddled with more information and a broader line of sight.

The key take away from all of this added tech, is the fact it still does not feel or look like an appliance, similar to the Tesla production model. Tesla tends to be far more suited to the design of something of an Iphone, being a tech company that makes cars, this makes sense. However, Audi is a car company that happens to make electric cars - so you still get that spectacular German build quality that is lacking in alot of other EV auto makers currently.

The exterior design is sleek, giving very nice body lines - Audi is moving towards some very nice wheel designs... finally. Even the EV's are getting some very aggressive and really sharp design in the wheel department. The updated front end is new for Audi, with the single frame grille design taking on an entirely new look. Overall, in the EV segment this Q6 is argueably one of the best looking cars in market. Audi does a great job of maintaining the fact that while the car is electric, it does not need to LOOK electric. This shows well with the body design and wheel design, it isn't conservative or shaped like an egg, it just looks good!

The Q6 and SQ6 are met with some serious power over the Q4, and are likely much quicker than the Q8 e-tron due to weight. The Q6 comes in at a massive 456 horsepower, and the SQ6 is weighing in at 509 horsepower! Making them extremely quick and agile - combined with Audis PPE platform the Q6 is going to be an absolute hoot to drive.

Charging is always a question when buying an EV, or when doing general EV research. While Electrify America chargers are sparse pending your location - with a proper at home set up, you will always be charged overnight. If your cup of tea is to charge quickly on the go - find an Electrify America charge station, and charge from 10% - 80% in a mere 21 minutes! This allows for quick turn around time thanks to that 100kWh battery pack, and 270 kW charging capability. The standard Q6 at a full 100% is over 300 miles on a full charge, while the SQ6 lacks behind due to the higher power figures at around 275 miles of range. That said, with a lot of experience behind the wheel of Audi EV's, if you drive them effeciently you can often crush the EPA estimate in terms of range.

North America should expect deliveries of the Q6 in the fourth quarter of 2024 - so they are right around the corner. The car is getting a lot of media attention, and should be a spectacular car to both buy & own in this segment! I'm excited to drive it and give a more in depth look at the dynamics of the new chassis!

Interesting the direction Audi is going with these cars, I think they are finally stepping into the competitve league that is BMW & Mercedes. Audi has always built the better car, but now they have the look to match!
